What a Year

As the first month of 2008 draws to a close I have realized that A TON of stuff has happened in my life over the past year! These events have been both good and bad (mostly GREAT) but I have no doubt that, for me, 2008 will be a year to rival all others.

As many of you know, I am MARRIED! It is pretty great, much better than wondering who the right person will be. On top of that in ~6 weeks I will be the proud father of a little baby girl! Mary Mckenna Hankin should be born on 3/17/2008! Not only St. Pats but also her maternal great grandfathers birthday. What a perfect day for a mostly (more than anything else. Cherokee and Georgian runners up, lol) Irish little girl. BTW, I was surprised today with the occasion of being able to see Mary Mckenna's face for the first time! Out of the blue our regular ultrasound tech decided to "play" with the new 3D/4D machine and took a few pictures of the baby! It is amazing but it seems that she has her mothers nose and looks like a very cute baby. Technology is amazing!
In other news, because Shawna was laid off from Land America in August (for being pregnant!) the time has come for me to go back to work. I had hoped that something would come up allowing me to continue to focus solely on school and lacrosse but alas no other option is viable. Even though it breaks my heart to miss the lacrosse season, it is for the best. Today I interviewed with GeoEye for an entry level position. I think it went very well and feel that I should be working there in no time! Doing so will provide great benefits and opportunities for advancement. Who knows, maybe next spring I could be the oldest college lacrosse player in the US!

Thats all for now.
